Weekly Photo Challenge: An Extra Special Blessing

While pondering this week’s photo challenge theme Extra, I remembered finding a 4-leaf clover a day or two before.  I also remembered seeing some clovers whose leaves had a reddish edge.  Four-leaf clovers have an extra leaf, so I decided to venture out in hopes of finding one for the challenge.  As I strolled to the back yard, I also thought, “Lord, it would be really cool to find a red 4-leaf clover.”  Even though it wasn’t actually a prayer request, and even though He doesn’t always answer our prayers in the way we want or expect, I was so excited to actually find one!  What are the odds?  Seriously!  Jesus loves this ragamuffin.

The clovers were sprinkled with pollen.  The pollen was extra heavy today, and I noticed some on this teeny, tiny, itty bitty, purple flower called Veronica, aka Speedwell, Bird’s Eye, and Gypsyweed.

    • Aww, thank you, Randell! I had never seen a red four-leaf clover either, which is why I had hoped to find one but did not expect to. That the Lord would bless me with something so rare makes the blessing that much more special and humbling. 🙂

  1. That is so cool, Rene. I’ve had a few of those experiences of a quick “Lord, it would be fun to find…a sand dollar…a dolphin…etc” prayers and seen those requests answered. What a blessing when that happens!

    • Yes! And I am so grateful that Jesus provided a way of reconciliation so that we can have a close relationship with God and experience moments like that. Thank you, Pastor Chuck! 🙂
