Weekly Photo Challenge: Textures
While watering my gardens, I noticed a tiny feather lying on a leaf and thought it might make a nice composition for this week’s Daily Post photo challenge theme “Texture“. In order to really reveal the textures of the feather and leaf, I went inside to get my son’s Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens. I love how macro photography displays that God is into details.
I also took a photo of an old book cover for its texture. The original color of the cover is red, but I changed the hue to more of a brownish to use as an overlay on photos. Please feel free to use it to add texture to your photos as well.
Here is an example of how using it might look on an image. In Photoshop I used the overlay blending mode and lowered the opacity a bit.

Your feather image is very nice! Good eye.
Thank you so much!
Rene, do detailed person can’t go into management?
>
I think detailed people can go into management.
How?
[chuckle] I guess it depends. People in management do need to have a vision for the ‘big picture’ and not get too bogged down by details, but I think it’s important for management to have the ability to see the details, too.
Isn’t it from detail then see the big picture?
Yes, I believe so, but sometimes people who are too focused on the details can have a difficult time stepping back to see the bigger picture. It would be like a person looking at life only through a macro lens and admiring only the intricate details and never looking through a wide angle lens to see the world made up of all those things. It would be like a scientist looking at molecules or strands of DNA and never seeing or considering the life, the person, the creature, the living being that is made up of those molecules and DNA.
May not be the case. Isn’t it? Depends on individual
Yes, that was my point. 🙂
I see 🙂 I enjoy our conversation
Me, too. 🙂

Top photo is my pick.
