Weekly Photo Challenge: Works of Art

After contemplating a subject for this week’s photo challenge theme “Work of Art”, I drove all around trying to find a bonsai tree.  I finally found one today.  I had hoped to purchase it, but after seeing a $89.99 price tag, I opted to just take a picture— it’s more likely to last longer.

Not only is creating a bonsai a work of art, but it is a collaboration between God and man.  Man cannot create the tree, but God has given us creativity, ability and knowledge.  My ability with taking the picture, however, was a bit lacking since I didn’t have the aperture at the right setting.  I used my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens at f/4.  I should have taken my time and not worried about feeling rushed.

I thought I would also include a couple of archived photos.  This one is of a pair of earrings my daughter made after we had taken a jewelry class together a couple of years ago.  I used my son’s Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens at f/4.

And this image of latte art was taken with my iPhone 5.
