Fiddleheads, Sporophytes and a Purple Trillium

I wanted to test a macro extension tube set I had purchased over a month ago, so I took my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens and the extension tube set for a walk in the forest.  I should have taken a tripod, especially since the extension tube set is meant to increase the macro lens’s magnification.  Not only that, but it also does not have auto-focus capability, so the focus had to be done manually.

This first image was taken using the entire extension tube set.  I love the detail.

The rest of the images were taken without the extension tube set, because my hands are just not steady enough.  I will be sure to take a tripod with me next time.
