A Shelter in the Storm

“For thou hast been a shelter for me…” —Psalm 61:3a

Winter storm. This is one of the trees that can be seen just outside our dining room window. Don’t be fooled by its remote feel. Just to the right and down the slope is a main road with convenience store and restaurant, and behind the tree is our backdoor neighbor’s house. But I love that we have a bit of remoteness and convenience. I also love how the branches curve down during a snowfall and create a kind of shelter. We’ve gotten about 7″ of snow so far with another 4-5 expected today.

  1. That sounds like a blast … i happen to love gloomy days, and if it snows that’s just the best … no wait, the best is when the school calls in the morning and cancels … and you get to tip-toe into the kid’s rooms and whisper, “snow-day!!!” … then you cuddle up with you Bible on couch and look out into the snowy day … ahhhh, I am right there 🙂

    • Although I do prefer sunny days, I love snowed-in days and occasional cozy, rainy days, too. I also enjoy watching my daughter’s little doggy romp through the snow like a fox. So cute!
