Bumblebees and Roses

While out running an errand, I found myself parked in front of a rose bush full of busy bee activity.

ImageI tried to capture its wings buzzing, but I need more practice. If you look really, really closely, you might be able to vaguely make out the wing on the left. I had my ISO set to 800, and the shutter speed was 1/640. Help!  Any advice?

  1. Beautiful! After mowing our lawn this morning I brought L in a bouquet of roses just like that one. :). Those flowers have such a wonderful aroma; almost a spicy scent. I did see a few small bees among the rose bushes, but the ones I brought to the dining room table only had a tiny spider clinging to them. L still made me get rid of it.
